A touch of Warmth

Sweet Concept Café - Bucharest, Romania

Mixing the desire of a comfortable place, the coffee shop and the cake shop color esthetic we came up with a very elegant and almost minimalistic approach. A touch of warmth.

Sweet Concept is a well-established artisanal sweet brand in Bucharest. The owner first opened her atelier in 2016. Since then she had dreamt of opening a small café where sweets blend with specialty coffee.

Set in an old one-story house with direct entrance from the street level, the café was designed as a place that makes people feel comfortable, like an extension in the city of their living rooms.

The indoor area is only 40sqm and a good part of this surface is occupied by the bar and sweet display.

The materials used for the café are a mixture of subtle textures and warm colors. The walls, the counter top and the floors are neutrally toned. The bar is the star of this place. It is clad in triangular pieces of oak wood, with one side painted in hues of warm autumn colours. The perception about the bar changes as you walk around it.

Sweet Concept Café is located in a mixed area, close-by is “Politehnica University of Bucharest” , some new residential developments and also the old layer of the town composed of one-story 100 years old buildings.
