MB Apartment - Bucharest, Romania

MB Apartment is located in the city center of Bucharest, quite close to Kiseleff Park and Victoriei Square.

MB Apartment is designed for an active lady preparing to retire. She has always been living in the city center and she has no plan to move to a quieter place.

The apartment is designed to accommodate the colorful and playful taste of the owner. The strategy was to keep the walls and floors settled by choosing neutral shades and add stronger colors on the furniture and on the soft decoration.

The owner has quite a large art collection and some nice pieces of furniture that she wanted to keep, so we had to create a keep the walls clean for the art pieces. The other request was to design lots of storage spaces.

The entire construction process was challenging because since mid ‘70s the apartment hadn’t had any intervention. The construction team had to firstly remove the layers of tiles and wall paints and later use the new materials. It was challenging because in the ‘70s the tiles and the paint finishes were laid with strong adessive, that made these very hard to be removed.

Overall, the apartment suffered a complete transformation, you can see it in the before and after photos.
