ART Deco Flow

Jinjiang Apartment - Shanghai, China

This apartment is located in one of the most famous Art Deco buildings in the city, Grosvenor Building. Shanghai has a very wide and well preserved Art Deco heritage. At first started with an obvious fusion between western deco and Chinese style. Later it evolves becoming a very fluid style. In Shanghai the style is much more about dynamics than decorative compared with its related roots from the west.

The design of the interior is simple, yet elegant, the main purpose behind the design intention is to keep as much of the original elements as possible. The wooden floor and the ceiling are the ones being kept. The colour scheme of the indoor becomes a translation of the exterior architectural façade. Brown bricks and white painting on the outside, light oak and dark walls on the inside.
